Chukka Ramaiah put under house arrest

Hyderabad, Sept 30: Hyderabad police have this morning put former MLC and educationist Chukka Ramaiah under house arrest to prevent him from participating in the 'Chalo Assembly' march called out by Telangana Democratic Forum (TDF). TDF, which is an umbrella organisation for various Left parties and people's organisations, had given a call for the Chelo Assembly programme in protest aganist the fake encounters in Warangal. In this connection, Chukka Ramaiah has been put under house arrest as a preventive measure at his residence in Vidyanagar locality in Hyderabad. Police clarified that they have not given permission for the Chalo Assembly march.
