Centre to set up world-class Agriculture University in AP

Hyderabad, Sep 29: The Centre has asked Andhra Pradesh government to identify a suitable location in the state for setting up world-class Agriculture university. The Centre has agreed to sanction Rs 200 crore for the Agriculture University and directed the state government to submit a report after identifying a location. Besides this, the Centre has agreed to set up Brooder Research Station at Kavali in Nellore district and Aquaculture Research Station at Kakinada in East Godavari district. Brooder Research Station would give fillip to poultry industry in the state whereas Aqua Research Institute will help to promote aqua industry in coastal districts. IIT, IIM and several central educational institutions were set up in the state as per the provisions of AP State Reorganisation Act.
