AP-TS border row triggers tension

Guntur, Sep 29: Tension prevailed at Anupu near Nagarjuna Sagar as Andhra Pradesh officials obstructed Telangana government employees from assembling boats. According to sources, Telangana Tourism employees planned to operate boats from Anupu in Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir. The officials have transported material in three lorries and planned to assemble the boats. However, AP officials strongly objected Telangana officials' move to operate boats from the Andhra Pradesh's geographical area. They questioned TS officials whether they would allow AP to operate boats in Hussain Sagar. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh tourism officials exchanged heated arguments. Police from both the Telugu states arrived at the disputed site when the reports last came in.
