HC raps AP, TS over farmers suicides

Hyderabad, Sep 29: The Hyderabad High Court today issued notices to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments over farmers suicides. A public interest litigation (PIL) seeking directives to governments of both the Telugu states to take measures to prevent farmers suicides, came up for hearing today. The court pulled up the governments for taking farmers suicides lightly. The court asked AP and TS government to find out the reasons for farmer suicides. Both the governments were directed to file counters with details of measures taken to prevent farmers suicides and data of the farmers who had committed suicides. The court posted the matter for next hearing on October 13.
