Over 23,000 Ganesh idols to be immersed in Hyd
Hyderabad, Sep 27: Elaborate arrangements are in place for 'Ganesh Nimajjanam' (Immersion) procession to be held in Hyderabad. According to sources, 23,000 idols in the Hyderabad city will be immersed in water bodies today.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of State Bandaru Dattatreya and Swamy of Ahobila Mutt will be present on the occasion.
The main procession would start at Balapur and conclude at Hussainsagar. Of the 23,000 idols in the city, 10,000 will be immersed in Hussainsagar. Officials made arrangements for immersion of the idols at 23 water bodies in the city.
Police installed 500 CCTVs and deployed 150 SHE teams to keep eye on anti-social elements. Devotees will be allowed to visit Khairatabad Ganesh pandal up to 1pm and procession of the idol will start at 4 pm.
