Tense situation at Jagan's protest venue

Guntur, Sep 23: Tension prevailed at Jagan's protest venue in Guntur as police denied permission to indefinite deeksha planned from September 26. Police said that permission would not be granted to the protest as educational institutions and hospitals are near the venue and in view of Bakrid festival on September 25 and Ganesh idol immersion on September 27. A large number of YSRCP activists rushed to protest venue on knowing that permission was denied to the programme. Large contingents of police were deployed to prevent any untoward incident. Though YSRCP has approached police three times seeking permission to the protest, the latter denied permission stating the venue was not suitable for the programme. Tension prevailed in the city as YSRCP leaders announced that they would stage protest defying the ban. They alleged that police intentionally denied permission to the protest.
