APCRDA is India's biggest urban development body
Vijayawada, Sep 23: The Andhra Pradesh state government has extended the area of AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) from the existing 7,068.20 sq km to 8,352.69 sq km.
Jaggayyapeta town and 153 villages were brought under the APCRDA limits. Of the 153 villages, 123 are in Krishna district and 30 villages are in Guntur district. The villages adjoining border with Telangana are also merged with APCRDA.
A total of 1,284.49 sq km are has been added to APCRDA. The government has constituted the execute committee of CRDA yesterday.
Bengaluru Urban Development Authority stands second in the country with an area of 8,005 sq km, followed by Mumbai Urban Development Authority with an area of 4,355 sq km.
