Judicial inquiry into Pushkaralu stampede
Hyderabad, Sep 18: The Andhra Pradesh state government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the stampede incident during the Godavari Pushkaralu in Rajahmundry. It may be noted that 29 devotees were killed in the incident.
According to reports, a committee headed by Justice CV Somayajulu will conduct the inquiry. It may be noted that Opposition parties blamed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the stampede. YSRCP and Congress alleged that Naidu took hold dip at Pushkar Ghat instead of VIP ghat to facilitate filming of a documentary.
It is not known whether the committee would probe only officials goof-up or it will conduct a detailed inquiry.
