Byreddy under house arrest, tension in Kurnool

Hyderabad, Sept 14: Tension prevails in Kurnool district as police today put Rayalaseema Parirakshna Samiti chief Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy under house arrest. Police took the measure to prevent Byreddy from taking out a padayatra from Tangadancha village to Kurnool town in protest against Andhra Pradesh government's decision to pool land for setting up an industrial unit in the Tangadancha mandal. Kurnool police, earlier, refused to give permission to Byreddy to take out the padayatra and for security reasons they put the former MLA under house arrest at his Kurnool residence. Meanwhile, hundreds of farmers and party activists started arriving at Byreddy's residence in Kurnool town.
