100 militants killed in Afghanistan within day: ministry

Kabul, Sep 13: At least 100 militants were killed in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours during the military operations carried out throughout the country, officials said on Sunday. "Around 100 terrorists were killed, 35 injured and one terrorist was arrested during the operations carried out by Afghan forces on Saturday," Xinhua news agency quoted the defence ministry as saying in a statement. A total of 12 army personnel were also killed during the operations, the statement confirmed. The army specialists defused 30 roadside bombs and landmines in the raids conducted in 10 provinces. The Taliban militant group has yet to make comments.
