ABVP wins all four DUSU seats

New Delhi, Sep 12: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday won all four seats of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU), an official said. The elections were held on Friday and results declared on Saturday. According to previous reports, ABVP was leading in all four seats as counting began of the votes cast in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections. The ABVP was ahead in all four seats after the first round of counting. Satinder Awana, Sunny Dedha, Anjali Rana and Chhattarpal Yadav are the ABVP candidates for the posts of president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary. The elections on Friday witnessed a 43.3 percent turnout, a slight dip from last year's 44 percent. A total of 35 candidates are in the fray but the main fight is between the Congress-affiliated National Students Union of India (NSUI) and the AAP's students wing, Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS).
