Armed security to guard onion stocks

Pune (Maharashtra), Sep 10: Traders has appointed armed security personnel to guard onion stocks at Pimpri Vegetable Market near Pune in Maharashtra. Recently, thieves robbed 400 kg onion from a warehouse in the market. Besides this, thieves also carried attacks on the traders in order to steal onions. The traders alleged that the civic body failed to provide enough security to traders in the market. Finally, they appointed armed security personnel with their own expenses to guard onion stocks. It may be noted that onion prices toppled governments in the country. Central and state governments took several measures to bring down prices of onion, but to no avail.
