Not stepping back on Vijayawada Metro project: Venkaiah
New Delhi, Sept 5: Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu reiterated that his government will not take a step back on the Vijayawada Metro Rail project. Speaking to media in New Delhi, Venkaiah said the NDA government was in favour of the Vijayawada Metro. He confirmed that after a report on the population and projects in Vijayawada is submitted to the central government, funds will be sanction for the Metro project. He also confirmed that the centre had approved Rs 330 crore funds for the construction of a flyover near the Durga temple in Vijayawada.
