Tirupati acid attack victim dies

Tirupati, Sept 5: After struggling for 45 days Zareena Baig, the acid attack victim of Chittoor district, passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai, reports said. Zareena worked as a teacher in the government school in Pileru. On July 15, Zareena former husband Khaja Hussain threw acid on her. Apparently, at the time of their marriage he had deceived her by claiming that he was employed and he had properties. After marriage, Zareena realised that Khaja had deceived her by making false claims. With the result, both of them used to fight frequently on this issue. And three years back, Zareena divorced Khaja. Even after the divorce, an angry Khaja continued to harass her forcing Zareena to file a complaint with Pileru police, who then registered a case against him. With revenge on his mind, Khaja threw acid on Zareena on the fateful day.
