Kishan Reddy arrested, padayatra foiled
Warangal, Sep 03: Police today arrested BJP Telangana state president and Amberpet MLA Kishan Reddy in Warangal district.
Kishan Reddy today launched a padayatra from Kanthanapalli project to Devadula project in the district demanding completion of pending irrigation projects on River Godavari.
According to reports, police arrested Kishan Reddy stating that he had no permission to conduct the padayatra.
Tension prevailed for a while as BJP workers tried to stop police from arresting Kishan Reddy. Earlier in the day, Kishan Reddy inspected Kanthanapalli project and assured all the necessary help to the project evacuees.
He opined that farmers were committing suicides as crop loan waiver scheme was not implemented properly. He alleged that Congress meted out severe injustice to the State.
