Special status essential for future generations: Chandrababu

Hyderabad, Aug 31: We are demanding special status to the state for the welfare of future generations, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The CM made a statement on the special status in Assembly today. He stressed to need to secure special status and sops promised to the state at the time of state bifurcation. Chandrababu said that Congress party divided the state in an unscientific manner. He appealed to the members to instil confidence among the people. He reiterated that TDP was committed to the development of the state. YSRCP members rushed to the Speaker podium and tried to disrupt CM's speech. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that disrupting speech of leader of the house will attract provisions of privilege motion. As YSRCP members continued protest, Speaker adjourned Assembly till tomorrow.
