Special status to AP: Kavitha urges people not to end lives

Delhi, Aug 30: K Kavitha, Nizamabad MP and daughter of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, has expressed her deep distress and pain over the suicides by people in support of the demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh. Kavitha appealed to the AP people not to take such drastic steps for special status. She said that TRS would support AP in its fight for special status. He asked AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to pursue the issue seriously with Centre. She along with the party MLAs met President's son Abhijit Mukherjee and offered condolences on the demise of his mother Suvra. Kavitha said that water levels in Krishna and Godavari basins in the Telugu states decreased as Chandrababu had not raised objection to the illegal projects constructed by Maharashtra and Karnataka. She said that Telangana government was ready to hold discussions with Chandrababu Naidu to resolve all the pending disputes. Central government is discriminating against Telangana, she added.
