We will not go back on special status to AP: Venkaiah Naidu
Nellore, Aug 30: Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has reiterated that the Union government would never go back on special status assurance given to Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media at Nellore today, Venkaiah Naidu said that he discussed special status, special package and incentives to AP with NITI Ayog officials for 75 minutes.
Venkaiah Naidu said that NITI Ayog would submit a report on the special status to Prime Minister. It may be noted that nine states in the country are seeking special status.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would make a statement on special status after receiving report from NITI Ayog. A special session of Parliament would be convened in September, he said.
