AP uses helicopters to improve green cover
Vijayawada, Aug 28: The Andhra Pradesh government has started measures to increase green cover in the proposed capital city region.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today flagged off a helicopter meant for dispersing seeds in the capital region.
Chandrababu said that government is making efforts to increase forest cover in the state to 40 per cent. He said that 50 crore saplings would be planted across the state.
In Krishna district, 3.71 ton neem, tamarind, subabul and Cassia Auriculata (Tangedu) seed would be dispersed in an area of 374 hectares.
In all, 14 ton seed will be dispersed through helicopters in Krishna and Guntur districts.
