Man commits suicide for special status to AP

Gudivada (Krishna), Aug 28: A 40-year-old person committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his home here on Thursday seeking special status to AP. The man was identified as Udaya Bhanu, son of Gudivada Telugu Mahila leader Siripurapu Tulasirani. He had left a suicide note in which he mentioned that he resorted to the extreme step as Centre delayed special status to AP. DSP YVBP Ankinedu Prasad inspected the spot. Udaya Bhanu's friends dissuaded him from taking life during the Jai Samaikyandhra movement. The incident created ripples across the district. The demand for special status to AP is growing by everyday and so far several persons sacrificed their lives for this cause.
