Venkaiah released smart city list, 3 cities selected in AP
Hyderabad, August 27: Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu today in New Delhi released the list of 98 smart cities to be developed in the country in the next six years with an expenditure of Rs 3 lakh crore.
As per preliminary reports, three cities from Andhra Pradesh are said to have figured in the list (names are yet to be known).
The minister said the cities have been selected based on inputs from 2011 census.
The maximum number of cities that figured in the list are from Uttar Pradesh (14), Tamil Nadu (12), Madhya Pradesh (7), Gujarat and karnataka (6 each) and finally Bihar (3).
