Ratan Tata meets Chandrababu, to adopt villages

Vijayawada, Aug 24: Tata Trust chairman Ratan Tata met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the latter's Camp Office here today. Ratan Tata and Chandrababu reportedly discussed adoption of villages in Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency and investment opportunities in the state. Earlier, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani and TDP leaders accorded a grand welcome to Ratan Tata upon his arrival at Gannavaram airport. Ratan and Chandrababu would sign a memorandum on development of villages and would launch 'Smart Village' programme. It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Sansad Aadarsh Gram Yojana' and invited industrialists including Ratan Tata to adopt villages. Ratan Tata responded positively and has written letters to all the MPs in the country. Only 3 MPs responded to Ratan Tata's letter and among them Kesineni Nani met Ratan and urged him to adopt 264 villages in the constituency.
