Govt committed to welfare of poor: Chandrababu

Kuppam (Chittoor), Aug 18: TDP supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was accorded a grand welcome by the party rank and file on his arrival at Kuppam. The CM garlanded the statue of former Chief Minister late NT Rama Rao and paid tributes. Addressing a public meeting at the town, Chandrababu said that his government was committed to the welfare of the poor. He reiterated that he would stand by the poor and elaborated the welfare schemes launched by TDP government. The CM visited stalls set up by various departments at Bus Stand Centre in the town and launched 'Manakodi' programme. He said that 10 lakh chicks will be distributed to SHG members in the state within 8 months to increase their income. The CM distributed 40 rams (male sheep) to farmers on this occasion. He announced that government would provide Rs 30,000 financial aid to those earning livelihood from sheep rearing.
