Civic workers call off strike, resume duty today
Hyderabad, August 15: The municipal workers have called off their 40-day long strike on Friday night and announced of joining duties from today.
The workers had launched strike on July 6 demanding salary hike of sanitation workers, taking back the suspended workers in the GHMC limits and others.
Municipal workers Joint Action Committee stated that they were calling off their strike keeping in view of Independence Day celebrations and unhealthy conditions due to the spread of dengue and other seasonal diseases.
The leaders said they will continue protest demonstrations seeking solution to their demands while delivering their duties.
