Twenty-fold hike in land prices: Narayana
Vijayawada, Aug 14: Land prices in the capital region has risen twenty-fold in the last one year, said Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana. Speaking to the media here, Narayana said that land which used to cost Rs 10 lakh per acre a year ago now costs Rs 2 crore.
Narayana said that government will acquire the land without troubling farmers as per the suggestion of actor Pawan Kalyan. He said that land acquisition will start from August 20.
So far, government acquired 33,000 acres from 29 villages under land pooling system. The government is planning to use Land Acquisition Act to procure another 2,000 acres land.
