No power, no problem

Hyderabad, August 9: Metro rail authorities are making alternate arrangements to provide power supply to metro trains, during interruption in power supply to the metro rail project. During such situations, there will be power supply for three hours in railway stations and one hour in trains. Auxiliary transformers in stations and inverters and batteries in compartments will be set up to store power. The energy saved thus will be utilised during emergencies. The government has allotted 125 MW of power for metro rail needs, which Telangana Transco will provide. As such uninterrupted power is being supplied to metro rail. Power supply will stop only if one grid fails. Even though there are no chances for the power supply to stop, alternate arrangements are being made in the project, in view of any such incidents may happen in future.
