Made in Andhra Xiaomi mobiles from Aug 10
Hyderabad, August 8: From Monday (August 10) on wards, made in Andhra Xiaomi phones will be available in the State. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be launching the first set of Xiaomi phones in Visakhapatnam on August 10. The world top selling brand, Xiaomi started manufacturing mobile phones in the factory of famous mobile phone manufacturing company, Foxconn at Sri City in Chittoor. Foxconn manufactures iPhones of Apple company also. Presently 50,000 Xiaomi phones per month are being manufactured. Foxconn decided to expand its factory for producing 50 lakh phone by the end March, 2016. This is the first mobile phone manufacturing company in Andhra Paradesh. There was no hardware manufacturing unit in AP after State bifurcation. Foxconn set up its plant in Vizag in which Tata Group former Chairman Ratan Tata had invested.
