Disqualification pleas: Speaker refuses to accept HC notice
Hyderabad, Aug 04: Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary refused to accept the Hyderabad High Court's notice on disqualification pleas filed by TDP, Congress and YSRCP.
It may be noted that the three parties petitioned the Speaker to disqualify the respective party MLAs who crossed over to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. They moved the court as the Speaker has not been taking up the case for over six months now.
Ten MLAs shifted loyalties including Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who got elected on TDP ticket but later joined TRS Cabinet. The court earlier allowed the petitioners counsel to serve notice on the Speaker. In a memo filed in the court yesterday, the petitioners advocate informed the court that Speaker refused to accept notice sent through registered post.
