MCA lifts Wankhede ban on Shah Rukh Khan

Hyderabad, August 2: Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Sunday lifted the five-year ban on Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan to enter Wankhede Stadium. The actor was banned from entering the Stadium in May 2012 after a brawl with a security guard and the MCA officials, following an IPL game in which Kolkata Knight Riders beat the Mumbai Indians. The ban ends in 2017. But certain sections of the MCA council requested to lift the ban since Shah Rukh never tried to enter the stadium any time and had already served three years respectfully. On the other hand, the MCA decided not to challenge the continuing ban imposed by BCCI on Ankit Chawan, who is facing IPL spot fixing allegations. The court said there are no evidences about the involvement of Srishant, Ankit Chawan and Ajit Chandela. But the BCCI already clarified that there was no question of lifting ban on the trio, based on the evidences in their possession.
