"We respect teachers, will not harm you"

Hyderabad, August 2: Their profession helped them in coming out of the kidnappers' clutches.Two out of the four university professors, reportedly kidnapped by ISIS, were released on Friday. They would soon return to India. Vijay Kumar and Lakshmikanth from Karnataka, Balaram of Telangana and Gopikrishna of AP were kidnapped by Islamic State in Libya on July 29, while returning to India. Vijay Kumar and Lakshmikanth were released while Balaram and Gopikrishna were still in IS captivity. Both Vijay and Lakshmikanth spoke with their family members soon after their release. In their words, the four were kept in a dark room and inquired about their names, religion and jobs. When they said that they are lecturers in the university, the terrorists said "We respect teachers. It is because of you many children are pursuing studies in Libya. We do no harm to you.
