Chhota Shakeel warns India of consequences for Yakub's hanging
Mumbai, July 31: Chhota Shakeel, Dubai-based underworld don, has warned India of consequences for hanging Yakub Memon in connection with Mumbai bomb blasts.
According to reports, he allegedly called up a prominent English daily and expressed his resentment for executing death sentence of Yakub.
Shakeel is reported to have said that government assured leniency and lured back Yakub to India. He said that the incident has ruled out the possibility of Yakub's brother and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and others returning to India in exchange of promises of leniency.
He opined that Dawood too would have met the same fate if he had entered India at that time.
He opined that Yakub was innocent and not involved in the case.
