Delhi Metro commuters want beggars tackled: Survey
New Delhi, Sep 14 : Most commuters of Delhi Metro are satisfied with service, but some raised concerns about beggars and encroachments outside its stations, a survey said Sunday.
The findings are from a week-long customer satisfaction survey conducted by the Metro May 15-21.
"Surveys were done on various crucial aspects of Metro operations such as availability, accessibility, information, quality of service, customer care, comfort, security and safety," said a Delhi Metro statement.
The findings reveal that the commuters were largely satisfied with the quality of service and have rated Delhi Metro as very good.
The commuters, however, raised concerns on Metro's ability to tackle beggars and encroachments outside its stations.
"An action plan has already been prepared for this and the concerned departments have already been instructed to initiate remedial action," added the statement.
The survey was conducted in 22 Metro stations which have the highest ridership/footfalls.
The Delhi Metro ferries close to 2.3 million passengers every day.
