Rajahmundry to be renamed as Rajamahendravaram

Rajahmundry/Hyderabad, July 26: Rajahmundry to be renamed as Rajamahendravaram. AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced a GO to this effect will be issued soon. During the concluding celebrations of Godavari Pushkaralu in Rajahmundry on Saturday evening, Chandrababu Naidu assured of developing the city as an advanced and modern city. He announced 'Akhanda Godavari' tourism project for East and West Godavari districts, to turn the twin cities as tourism hub. Convention centre, hotels, entertainment centres would be developed in the 50 acres of land near central prison. He announced of releasing Rs 100 crores for this project. Naidu also said that VT College, Town Hall, Damerla Ramarao Art Gallery, Goutami library would be developed to handover them as ancestral property to the future generations.
