Virasam leader Chalasani Prasad dies

Visakhapatnam/Hyderabad, July 25: Noted poet, writer, critic and Virasam leader Chalasani Prasad (83) breathed his last on Saturday. He died due to heart attack at 11.30 am today at his residence in Visakhapatnam. Prasad was a native of Bhatla Penumarru village in Krishna district. He played a vital role in literary and cultural movements. He was also one of the key founders of Virasam. Prasad went to jail several times for his active participation in communist agitations. Several leaders and others expressed their condolences on Prasad's death. He is survived by two daughters.
