I will not represent Speaker: Telangana AG
Hyderabad, July 23: The Telangana Advocate General refused to represent Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary in petitions filed on disqualification of turncoat MLAs. The AG said that he only represents Telangana government and refused to argue on behalf of the Speaker.
The court postponed hearing in the case for two weeks as it came to know that the Speaker and the eight MLAs who had defected into TRS had not received notices of the petitioner. The court directed the petitioner to handover notices to speaker and MLAs and to submit the receipt in court.
The petitioner sought clarification whether he can issue notices to Speaker when the matter is before court. The hearing took place for two days and the court directed the petitioner to issue notices.
