Polavaram project will be completed by 2018: Chandrababu

Eluru (West Godavari): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated that Polavaram irrigation project would be completed by 2018. He conducted an aerial survey to monitor the works of Pattiseema irrigation project in West Godavari district today and reviewed the progress of irrigation projects with officials . The CM said that Polavaram left canal works would be completed by the month end. He said that Tammileru, Budameru, Gunderu and Ramileru streams will be diverted into Polavaram Left canal to control floods. He said that government was examining the proposal to reduce Kolleru contour level. Chandrababu assured that better package would be provided to Polavaram evacuees. He said that Thotapally and Gundlakamma project works will be completed by August 15. Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and senior Irrigation officials accompanied the CM.
