40 lakh bogus voters in AP, TS
Hyderabad, July 22: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanawaral Lal has said that 40 lakh bogus voters exist in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.
As per Election Commission of India (ECI) norms, voters should not exceed 60-70 per cent of the total population in that area but in the two Telugu states voters were more than 70 per cent of the population.
Speaking to the media here, Bhanwar Lal said that notices were issued to 30-40 lakh voters for deletion of their names from voters list. He said that ECI decided to link Aadhaar number with voter Id card and added, that voters names would not be deleted for not possessing Aadhaar card.
Bhanwar Lal reiterated that votes of the persons who were not residing at their residences and those registered in more than one constituency will be deleted at any cost.
