Hyderabad, Oct 23 : BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao predicted on Friday that K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) will not only return as the Chief Minister of Telangana but will play a key role in national politics.

The day is fast approaching when KCR will play a pivotal role—not just in Telangana, but on the national stage as well, he said, addressing a meeting of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders at party headquarters Telangana Bhavan here.

Rama Rao believes that parties other than the Congress and the BJP are set to become significant players in national politics.

He said when KCR spoke of an alliance excluding both the Congress and the BJP four years ago, many failed to grasp his vision.

“Today, seeing the BJP pushing the nation into a crisis, and observing that the Congress lacks any alternative agenda, people have come to realise that what KCR said was the truth,” said the BRS leader.

KTR, as Rama Rao is popularly known, remarked that despite all external support, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi cannot rise. “No matter how much effort Rahul Gandhi puts in, it is to no avail,” he said.

The BRS leader also stated that because the Congress failed the nation, young men and women are now fighting against the BJP under the banner of 'CJP'.

“It has become clear that while the BJP may be able to intimidate political leaders, it cannot suppress the youth. The BJP is currently at its weakest point in the last 10 years.”

KTR said it was certain that KCR will return as the Chief Minister of Telangana, claiming that all sections of society, having felt betrayed by the Congress, are now looking toward the BRS.

He alleged that Congress and BJP MPs in Telangana are working in tandem. He said instead of working for the interests of Telangana, their sole focus has become attacking KCR and KTR.

The BRS leader claimed that there is intense opposition to the Congress across all sections of society in the state. He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress lack the courage to hold MPTC, ZPTC, and municipal corporation elections in the state.

He accused the Congress party of deceiving students, the unemployed and youth through their so-called 'Youth Declaration.'
