Cheating case on ex-cricketer

Hyderabad, July 18: A cheating case has been filed against Hyderabad Cricket Association president and former cricketer Arshad Ayub at Miyapur police station. According to police, Arshad Ayub, along with some others started real estate business under the title 'Scity' and made agreements with prospective buyers. As the venture, which was started in 2007, hadn't completed till date, a central government employee PGK Nair approached the court. As per the court directives, Miyapur police filed a case against Arshad under IPC sections 406, 409, 415, 420, 464, 468, and 506 and started investigation. Arshad collected amount from the buyers assuring them of completing the construction works within 20 months. But the apartment was not constructed even after six years. Besides, the victim alleged that Arshad had sold sixth and seventh floors without permission. When questioned about this, Nair said Arshad had threatened him. Another seven persons also turned to Miyapur police, who were cheated by Arshad in the same way.
