30-km traffic jam near Dharmapuri

Hyderabad, July 18: Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on the 30-km Dharmapuri-Jagityal road in Karimnagar district due to a massive traffic jam. The police and transport officials are finding it difficult to control the traffic. The police are diverting the vehicles to the temple town through other routes. They are struggling for the past three hours to clear the traffic jam when the reports last came in. Similarly, Kothagudem town witnessed 10-km traffic jam as officials stopped vehicles moving towards Bhadrachalam in view of the huge influx of devotees. Even in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Medak districts, traffic came to standstill due to the mass movement of devotees. Large contingents of police were dispatched from Hyderabad to all the districts to clear the traffic on war-footing. Ministers already reached districts and they are monitoring the situation from time to time.
