Heavy traffic jams on all pushkar roads
Hyderabad, July 18: Owing to continuous holidays on Saturday (Ramzan) and Sunday, all the roads, leading to places of Pushkaralu in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, were swarmed with hundreds of vehicles.
In Telangana, traffic was halted on the 44th national highway, going towards Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar and Warangal districts. More number of vehicles got stranded at the Toopran toll gate in Medak district.
The normal flow of vehicles through this toll gate was 1,000 on any day. Now this has increased to 3,000 on Saturday. Toopran police were trying to clear the traffic.
The vehicles on Choppadandi-Dharmapuri road were moving dead slow for more than 20 km. Meanwhile, vehicles were stranded from Mangapet to Kamalapur for a stretch of three km.
The same situation is continuing in Andhra Pradesh State also. The Chennai-Kolkatta national highway was teeming with hundreds of vehicles, going to East and West Godavardi districts for Pushkaralu. Vehicles, buses and others were stopped up to 3 km stretch at Nakkapalli and Kagita toll gates in Visakhapatnam district.
Traffic halted at Gannavaram, Hanuman junction while vehicles could be seen stranded for a stretch of six km near Jaggampet of East Godavari district.
