3 months paid leave of victims of molestation
New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 18: The Central government issued orders giving three months paid leave to the complainant in sexual harassment case. These holidays will not be deducted from her official leave account. The complainant could be transferred to other departments during the inquiry.
The women victims have to complain to the specially set up Complainants Committees, within three months of the incident.
These committees, set up in all ministries, should have a woman as its head and should have at least half women members. The committee is entitled to make recommendations like deduction of the salary of the charged officer to be paid to the victim.
The committee will order a preliminary inquiry, collects documentary evidences and record statements of the witnesses. The total inquiry should be completed within three months.
