Congress's bid to besiege Secretariat foiled
Hyderabad, July 17: Tension prevailed for a while when Congress leaders tried to lay siege to the Telangana Secretariat here today.
The Congress leaders entered into arguments with police for preventing them from entering the Secretariat. The police arrested the protesters and shifted them to Gandhi Nagar police station.
Earlier, they staged a protest in front of the Secretariat, demanding the government to fulfill the lawful demands of sanitation workers. Former Minister Danam Nagender flayed the government for being insensitive to the plight of workers.
TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Jana Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Shabbir Ali and a large number of the party activists participated in the protest.
