AP Express renamed as Telangana Express

Hyderabad, July 16: The South Central Railway has renamed the Hyderabad-Delhi-Hyderabad Andhra Pradesh Express as Telangana Express today. The change will come into force from November 15. The Telangana government has demanded the renaming of the prestigious superfast train. Telangana Express train was operated between Hyderabad and Sirpur Kagaznagar in Adilabad district and KCR asked Railway officials the name the train after legendary Gond leader Komuram Bheem. Similarly AP government demanded the Centre to introduce new AP Express between Delhi and Visakhapatnam. But Railways decided to operate the new train between Vijayawada and Delhi and the decision drew criticism as the train will largely travel through Telangana.
