100 injuries found on Prathyusha
Hyderabad, July 10: The doctors found over 100 injuries on the 19-year-old Prathyusha, who was rescued by child rights activists and police two days ago.
The hospital authorities released health bulletin stating that there are deep injuries all over her body and her private parts were attacked with acid.
The doctors said that the victim was burnt with cigarette butts and forced to drink acid. She needs two-year treatment to recover from mental trauma, they added.
At present the girl is in ICU and even relatives are not visiting her.
Prathyusha was staying with her step-mother Shymala and father CH Ramesh. The victim’s mother had committed suicide after she divorced her husband. As per the divorce agreement, a flat is registered in the name of Prathyusha and its present value is Rs 1 crore.
The relatives alleged that the step-mother mutilated and traumatized the girl and portrayed her as mentally unstable in order to stop her marriage.
The couple reportedly asked the girl to commit suicide to escape the torture. They said that the inhuman treatment was meted out to the girl to acquire her property.
The step-mother was remanded to 14-day judicial custody and the victim’s father is still at large.
