Free meals to 10 lakh pilgrims per day
Hyderabad, July 10: The Telangana government has made all arrangements with about Rs 600 crore, for conducting the Godavari Pushkaralu a la Kumbhmela.
TS Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender held a meeting with Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, Karimnagar District Collector Neetu Prasad, traders and others here on Thursday night.
The Minister said water would be released from Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) and Ellampalli projects due to water shortage in Godavari River. It was expected that about five crore devotees would come for the holy dip from the State and also from neighbouring states.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chadrashekar Rao will reach Dharmapuri on July 13 night and will take the holy dip on July 14 morning.
The Minister gave a call to donors, voluntary organisations and traders and business associations to help as the government is making arrangements to provide free lunch to about 10 lakh people per day.
