Confusion over Godavari Pushkaralu date

Rajahmundry, June 29: Controversy about the date of commencement of Godavari Pushkaralu is continuing. The AP government and two other famous astrologers have fixed three different timings making the people a confused lot. As per TTD Asthana pundits, the Pushkaralu will start from July 14. The government fixed this date and is making transport and other arrangements accordingly. On the other hand, Sanskrit scholar and astrologer Madhura Krishna Murthy Sastry of Rajahmundry announced that the Pushkaralu have began at 8.27 am on Sunday (June 28). He also took 'pushkara bath' in Rajahmundry pushkar ghat on Sunday. Meanwhile, Srisailam temple Asthana pundit Butte Veerabhadra Daiwagna, belonging to Rajahmundry announced that the Pushkaralu will start from July 7, based on Surya Sidhanta. Leaving the controversy about the date, special buses and trains were already announced and also helicopters. Pawanhans company of Rajahmundry is getting ready to fly helicopters for the pilgrims and according to sources, airport authority already gave the green signal. Helicopter services are also available from Rajahmundry airport to Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam airports from July 14 to 25. The fares are yet to be finalised.
