CMs, national leaders dial KCR, decry Centre’s stand on Section-8
Hyderabad, June 23: Chief Ministers of several states and national leaders spoke to Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao over phone and asked him to strongly protest against the Centre’s move to enforce Section-8 of AP State Reorganization Act which mandates Governor to supervise law and order in Hyderabad.
The CMs and national leaders pledged support to KCR in fight against the autocratic and unilateral actions of the Union government.
According to reports, Chandrababu is highlighting the implementation of Section-8 to escape from the case. It may be noted that Attorney-General Mukul Rohatagi opined that Governor can supervise law and order in Hyderabad as per Section-8 of AP State Reorganization Act.
Several organisations are bringing pressure on Chief Minister KCR to call for a bandh to protest against the Centre's move.
They are planning to stage a protest in Delhi. KCR reportedly asked them to maintain restraint.
