School buses under RTA scanner in AP
Hyderabad, June 15: In order to ensure safety of students, Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Authority officials are inspecting school buses across the State.
The officials are checking the fitness of school buses and verifying documents and permits. The officials seized the buses, which were being operated without obtaining fitness certificate in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Chittoor.
Similarly, Education department officials imposed Rs 1 lakh fine each on two unrecognized schools in Vijayawada.
The officials warned that a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed for each day on each unrecognized school and announced that the list of unrecognized schools will be soon made available on the department’s website.
The officials issued notices to unrecognized schools across the state.
