Fake IAS officer held for duping MLAs, MPs

Hyderabad, June 13: The police arrested an alleged imposter who duped MLAs, MPs and unemployed youth. The accused Raghavendra Reddy projected himself as an IAS officer and befriended MPs and MLAs. He reportedly duped Malkajgiri MLA Kananka Reddy, Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy, Bhuavanagiri MP Boora Narsaiah Goud, MLC Ponguleti Srinvasa Reddy and others on the pretext or arranging loans for them at low interest rate. He used to collect money from unemployed and the poor by promising jobs and house sites. Malkajgiri DCP Ramarajewari said that police started investigation on the basis of complaints lodged by the elected representatives and arrested Raghavender at Alwal today and seized Rs 90,000 cash from his possession. The accused Raghavendar Reddy hails from Peddapuram in East Godavari district.
